THREE YEARS RIGOROUS IMPRISONMENT TO THEN JUNIOR ENGINEER, CPWD AND A PRIVATE PERSON IN BRIBERY CASE
The Special Judge for CBI Cases, Bhopal has convicted Shri Amit Gupta,
then Junior Engineer, CPWD, Nirman Bhawan, Bhopal & Shri Rashid
Ali,(private person) of Bhopal in a bribery case and sentenced them to
undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.5000/- each. CBI had registered a case U/s 120-B of IPC r/w Section 7 of PC Act, 1988 on 28/03/2008 on the basis of a complaint against Shri Amit Kumar Gupta, Junior Engineer, CPWD, Nirman Bhavan, Bhopal and Shri Rashid Ali, Contractor (private person), Bhopal. It was alleged that accused Shri Amit Kumar Gupta, Junior Engineer, Sub Division-I, CPWD, Bhopal had demanded an illegal gratification of Rs.10,000/- from the Complainant through Shri Rashid Ali, Contractor for recording the measurement of the completed work and also for preparation of bills which were pending for the last one year( approx.). CBI laid a trap and the accused person was arrested while demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs. 10,000/- through Shri Rashid Ali, Contractor (Private Person) from the Complainant. A charge sheet U/s 120-B of IPC r/w Section 7 and 13(2)r/w 13(1)(d) of PC Act, 1988 was filed on 27-08-2008 in the Court of the Special Judge for CBI Cases, Bhopal against Shri Amit Kumar Gupta, then Junior Engineer & Shri Rashid Ali (private person). |
