A case was registered U/s 7 of PC Act, 1988 on the complaint of a private person alleging that the Executive Engineer(Electrical), Regional Central Electrical Division, CPWD, Raipur(Chhattisgarh) had demanded an illegal gratification of Rs. 26,000/- from the complainant for clearance of his pending bill amounting to Rs.13 lakh(approx).  CBI laid a trap and the accused was caugtht red handed while demanding & accepting bribe of Rs. 26,000/- from the complainant. Searches were conducted at the residence & office of the Executive Engineer(Electrical) and incriminating documents have been recovered. 

The accused was produced in the Designated Court at Raipur and was remanded to Judicial Custody for 14 days.
